I'am using the DataTravelers for exactly what the name implies. I take them with me on the road, loaded with whatever I need for my trip and I don't need to worry about bringing a laptop along. Each flash drive is viewed by the computer as a 'disk', meaning that it can be formatted, even partitioned. I usually have a 'public' partition and an encrypted section for the more sensitive files. You can use more of them if you want to have some very specific sets of files for very specific occasions. And, believe it or not, I'm using these smallish little drives in my car because it plays music directly off a USB flash drive. My kids each have their own 4GB flash drive with a few hundred songs of 'their' music on it and this makes it easy to select 'whose' music we are playing while on the road.

I'm a professional photographer who fills up two portable drives a year (I swap the onsite and offsite copies after each shoot). The Western Digital (WD) Passport portables I've been using, at 320 GB each, are full to the brim with all my 2008 'raw' work. Wanting to preserve the data on them, I went shopping for two more portable drives, and came across the Seagate 500 GB GO models. You can't really go wrong with either drive (both companies offer a great five-year warranty), but I like the form factor of the Seagates a bit better (they're a fraction of an inch smaller in all dimensions but LOOK even more svelte than they are). Also, an Amazon promotion currently offers a free dock with the Seagate drives, much like an iPod dock -- just slide the device onto the connector and it mounts on your desktop. Handy and elegant. The Asus external DVD burner just arrived today. It was very nice looking and lightweight. Goes well with my black Asus EEE PC 900HA. Simple plug and play installation. However, I did not install the Cyberlink Power2go 6 software that was included in the package. The Y cable is about 20-21 inches long which is good enough for me since it is neither too short or too long. was afraid when I got this thing in the mail, it would be impossible to set up, and not pick up a signal, as I tried a 3rd party adapter first. Don't waste your time with third party stuff for this. The Microsoft adapter fit perfectly, hooked up quickly, and the on screen setup was tremendously easy. Withing 15 minutes I was online, playing games with a group. Great purchase. Yes a bit pricey, but it works extremely well, and I have yet to loose a signal. My house is 1650 sq. feet, and my Router is in my office, last door on the right, and still, my signal is very strong! Very pleased.
